Mobility and car parks

On this page

A mobility parking permit allows the holder to park in any mobility park for the time indicated on the meter.

The permit must be clearly displayed on the windscreen and it must be valid.

In a sign written mobility park a permit holder can park for 120 mins for free with 30mins grace to return to the vehicle.

A mobility permit holder must pay the tariff in a normal park with their permit displayed they will get the 30mins grace once the time has expired to return to the vehicle.

A fine for the misuse of a mobility car park is $150.  As of October 1, 2024 it will be a $750 fine. This infringement fee is set by central Government and enforced by Council.

Mobility car parks

There are 34 specially marked mobility parks in the CBD.
These parks are wider than normal for wheelchair access. All parks have their own parking meter.
The parks are clearly marked with blue paint on the road, and a sign on the footpath.
