Some achievements highlighted
- 1.3 tonnes of rubbish cleaned up along Centennial Marine Drive by the community.
- Kiwa Pools opened to the public 2 September 2023.
- Work started on the 1000-year bridge, 6.3m above Kaiti Beach Road connecting Tītīrangi/Kaiti Hill and Puhi Kai Iti/Cook Landing site.
- Tairāwhiti again tops the country for regional sign-ups in the national ShakeOut earthquake drill.
- Te Arai swing bridge at Manutuke is back in action for the community.
- Spartina spraying on the Taruheru River. Successful trial area from Peel Street Bridge to the Marina boat ramp.
- 2 accolades for Kiwa Pools at the NZ Commercial Project Awards, picking up a gold award for quality and execution.
- New emergency coordination centre on Potae Avenue opened.
- Hollywood Bridge replaced by NZ's longest 3 span bailey bridge.
- 19 communities received specialist emergency equipment for a community-led response if isolated after a catastrophic event.
- Funding announced to accelerate silt and large woody debris removal.
- Local superhero awards presented to everyday heroes who performed extraordinary acts during Cyclone Gabrielle.
- Hosted a free community event at the Soundshell to mark the anniversary of Cyclone Gabrielle.
- Every volunteer who helped after Cyclone Gabrielle was recognised at the New Zealander of the Year Awards.
