Tairāwhiti Resource Management Plan (TRMP) review
Council has allocated $7.7M over 3 years to drive key planning initiatives across the region. Phase 1: delivering key updates for freshwater, forestry, urban development and regional policies. Initiating Phase 2 : address evolving regional demands. The plan will integrate scientific research and extensive collaboration with iwi/hapū, government agencies and community organisations.

Indoor multipurpose centre
Council has allocated $2.5M over the 3 years for the feasibility studies, design and planning to bring the development to an investment-ready stage. With committed funding, Council aims to maintain momentum for this key community facility in partnership with contractors, government, iwi/hapū and other stakeholders.

City centre revitalisation
A total of $3M - $2.66M in Council funding and $340k in external support has been committed to refresh the CBD, in partnership with Trust Tairāwhiti and guided by community input.
Key initiatives include enhanced streetscaping, planting and infrastructure upgrades to improve vibrancy and make the city centre a more attractive and functional space.
