About Hamanatua Stream

The stream empties into Wainui Beach after forming a lagoon near the car park. Fed from run-off from surrounding farmlands, the stream and lagoon are frequently contaminated.  We advise not to swim in the lagoon.
Signs are in place warning of the potential health risk.
