Titirangi Revegetation

Restore Titirangi by following the harvesting project and planting
native species.

The restoration of Titirangi is one part of the Tairawhiti Navigations program. 

The restoration project included harvesting a pine forest, re-vegetation of significant areas with natives, weed control and park infrastructure upgrade. 

Project status

11ha of exotic trees removed from 2 sites on Titirangi.
57,000 native plants are now in the ground across the maunga. 
New tracks are planned and ready to be constructed.
Reserve seats and signs are about to be replaced.
Weed control and removal of invasive weeds will continue.
Total project budget: $1.3 million over 3.5 years
