Reads Quay willl be temporarily closed on both sides of Gladstone Road for a parade and events associated with the Whitiki, Whiti Whiti - Maori in the First World War book launch on 8 June 2019 from approximately 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The road will reopen as soon as marchers have completed their activities.
- From Pitt Street to Gladstone Road
- From Gladstone Road to Peel Street
Gladstone Road will remain open and restricted access will be maintained to the Hotel and Motels affected. The march of 100 uniformed soldiers will start from Te Poho o Rawiri Marae and travel to C-Company Building at Kelvin Park and returning so other roads will be affected for short periods.
It will be an offence under the regulations for anyone, other than those covered by the permit for the above event, to use the road while it is closed.
This notice is issued under the Local Government Act 1974 Section 342 and the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965.
