Resource consent for wastewater overflows

Gisborne District Council is required to apply for a resource consent to discharge wastewater into the city's rivers. This includes wastewater overflows that can happen during wet or dry weather.

The resource consent will hold Council to a programme to continue to reduce overflows to benefit our rivers and people.

The information sheets outline the causes and impacts of overflows and explain Council's approach to reducing overflows.
