Public Conveniences Plan
Consultation has closed on our draft Public Conveniences Plan, which provides direction for managing Council’s public conveniences over the next 20 years.
Public conveniences include toilet facilities, changing rooms, nappy changing stations, motor-home effluent stations, showers and drinking water fountains.
The plan will assist decision-making around the funding and operations of these facilities in the district.
While it doesn’t propose any major changes, the draft plan recommends actions to provide an affordable network that meets the needs of residents and visitors in Tairāwhiti.
What we're proposing
To assess levels of service, quality, compliance and sites to be prioritised across the Tairawhiti. Install counters to determine user numbers.
Improve asset management systems and promote conveniences available across Tairawhiti.
Create design guidelines to ensure our public conveniences are safe, welcoming, consistent, compliant and where possible reflect local character and identity.
