No need for water restrictions
Although we've had temperatures reaching 30 degrees, the water storage dams at Mangapoike still have sufficient water.
At this stage we do not need to put water restrictions in place. But we encourage residents to conserve water at all times.
Starting today we’re carrying out maintenance of the Waipaoa water treatment plant to make sure things run smoothly. The yearly run-up of the treatment plant will take 3-5 days. The annual start-up normally coincides with the time industry start processing, this will also allow maintenance checks to be done while the plant is under load.
Our 3 month weather predictions do not raise any concerns. We’re also monitoring the Waipaoa River levels so that we can, if possible avoid competing with other water users.
