Night roadworks for Peel Street, Roebuck and Lytton roads
Asphalt road works will take place at the following locations from 7pm to 6am starting on Sunday this week.
Sunday 1 March to Monday 2 March – Peel Street and Palmerston Road intersection
Monday 2 March to Wednesday 4 March – Roebuck Road (between Gladstone and Norman Roads)
Thursday 5 March to Sunday 8 March – Roebuck and Gladstone Road roundabout.
Monday 9 March to Wednesday 11 March – Lytton and Gladstone road roundabout.
Road closures are required for all works and detours will be in place.
Parking will be removed close to the work sites and vehicles should be parked away from the above areas to allow machinery access the area.
Traffic controllers will be on-site to assist residents with access and we apologise for any disruption or inconvenience during these works.
The above sites will conclude the $3.3m asphalt programme funded by the Government’s Provincial Growth Fund, which has included the resurfacing of Lytton Road.
These works are part of the $137m Tairāwhiti Roading Package to unlock the region’s economic potential by creating stronger and more resilient transport connections.
Council has invested over $17m of Provincial Growth Funding into the local road network in the past 12 months, with up to 120 people working directly on the projects at any one time.
