The Gambling Act 2003 and the Racing Act 2003 require the Gambling Venues Policy be reviewed every 3 years.
The policy covers if and where gambling venues can establish in the region.
Consultation with the community will help Council to assess public opinion on the proposed policy and consider changes as a result of submissions received.
The following changes have been made to the policy:
• Council will no longer allow venues to relocate under any circumstances.
• Council will not grant consent for any Board (TAB) venues to establish in the region, including if the current Board venue were to close for any reason.
• Some minor amendments for readability and compliance.
Read the draft Gambling Venue Policy 2019 and Statement of Proposal and make a submission before 4pm Tuesday 9 April.
