Dog control fees approved for 2019/20
Council has approved new dog control fees for 2019/20.
The dangerous dog registration fee has been reduced to encourage the registration of these dogs, while recognising the additional risk to the community.
All other fees have been adjusted to allow for inflation.
Council offers discounted registration fees as incentive for responsible dog ownership, or as an acknowledgement that some dogs provide assistance to their owners.
Discounted registrations apply to working dogs, guide and hearing dogs, East Coast Pig Hunting Club members, selected owner and super annuitants.
Renewal notices for dog registrations will be sent out this month, with fees due on 1 July.
