Childers and Stanley Road intersection closed tonight
The round-a-bout at the Childers and Stanley Road intersection will be closed to all directions from 6pm to 6am tonight (Friday 4 September) for surface repairs.
Detours will be in place and traffic controllers will be on site during the works to assist residents with access to properties. Residents have been contacted by letter and are advised to make contact with the traffic controller on site to enter or exit their property.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these works.
These upgrades are funded by the NZ Government’s Provincial Growth Fund, to improve the region’s local road network, support the local economy and create quality employment opportunities for the people of te Tairāwhiti.
Council has invested over $30m of Provincial Growth Funds into Tairāwhiti local roads since May 2019, with a further $25m of projects to be completed before the end of this year.
