Theft from Botanical Garden's bird aviary
Several birds were stolen from the aviary at the Botanical Gardens on Friday night.
Whoever was responsible cut a large hole in the aviary and took a golden pheasant and 7 Japanese Quail.
The Poverty Bay Bird Club has the contract to service the aviary and made temporary repairs to the aviary on Saturday morning.
The bird club has contacted local pet shops in case someone's trying to sell the birds. The theft has also been reported to the police.
We would love to get these birds back to their home, so if anyone has any information please contact us.
